Hydra is a relatively small island situated at a distance of 40 NM ( a short hydrofoil trip of no more than an hour and 45minutes) from the Athenian port of Piraeus. The island boasts stunning Venetian architecture and it is a strictly protected site where no new plots can be built and no cars are allowed.Traditionally a refuge of artists as well as the rich and famous Hydra is comparable to Capri in terms of style and radiance, while its proximity to Athens has made it known as the ‘Greek Hamptons’.
